i have a 1641cc motor with bugpack cam 415-284 i am looking to turbo it for next summer. i want to upset some v-8 owners at the track. i want it to look stock (close the decklid). i have found two set-ups the cb performance hideaway and the draw thru from air cooled.net. my question is which of these is a better set-up for me? i want to run the turbo on my stocker for next summer and then upgrade the motor to a 1915 cc next winter. what are the pros and cons of these two set-ups in your opinions? i am on a somewhat tight budget so i only want to buy the turbo that will serve the best purpose. any help you guys can send this way would be greatly appreciated. don't know to many people in northern ohio that are in to the vw scene. thank you

blow-thru vs. draw-thru
On of the biggest benefits from the draw through system sold by aircooled.net is that it's sold by aircooled.net. It's also proven to work well and is, after all, lo-budget. Given CBs history I would expect the lo-budget system to be more drivable day to day as well.

Depends where you live. Draw-thru systems suffer from carb icing while blow-thru systems do not. You also have better fuel suspension in a blow-thru system, and there are tweaks (intercooler, blow-off valve, etc.) that can be implemented on a blow-thru system that can't on a draw-thru system.

blow-thru vs. draw-thru
not to mention how much less heat the blo-thru set-up creates (big issue on aircooled cars) and blo-thru's also suffer alot less from turbo lag.
