Line-X is the only choice, lol. It adds strength to the shroud, which is great for this rally race car. We didn't spray it on as thick as a truck bed, but this stuff is nearly indestructable. my type I DTM is sprayed also, but has a top-coat of dark grey pigment. It'll look good against the black Line-X in the engine bay...I want a little contrast in there.Plastermaster wrote:Nice Job! We're seeing a few Line-Xed Shrouds now. Good Choice. If there was any chance of vibration probs with the fiberglass (not that there was) The line-X should cure it, And it looks great too.
It looks like the stub pipes are made of copper?

Tangerine exhaust-- 1-3/4"
Engine size- 2680cc (82X102)
As far as life expectency goes- Its a full race engine, I would not want it to go more than 1 season without being freshened up- I'm sure it would go much longer than that, however.
All the main wear components have been removed- it has ceramic lifters, Nickies, Ion Nitrided crank, Full engine coatings on all the bearings, pistons and heads... DLC coated valves and everything has been cryoed.
In a non race environment I'd say she is good for 80K, maybe 100.
BTW- I could have made more power than this IF we could have used race fuel... The environmentalist won't let Rally cars run race fuel or any fuel with lead in its composition compete in the forest- With race fuel and some healthy CR I could have easily gotten 230 out of this one...
See it climb Pike's Peak in 2006!!!!!
