Where do I find oil filter

Post by Victor H »

Not a difficult problem but I can't seem to find anyone who carries a oil filter for my 1975 type 2. Is there a newer model filter that cross references to this one? thanks

Pep Boys on St. Andrews Rd had the Bosch filter for mine.
Kinda pricey at $9, but fits like a charm and has the check valve.
:D

Don't know if you still live in Columbia or not though....

Thanks, do you have a model number or whatever newer model car this fits? The filter catalogs usually don't go back to the 70s.

83 aircooled 2.0..... if it sez 2.0, it's the right one.
I use the Fram HP1 on new engines I build for breakin, then
use the Boschs afterward.

I would think that the 1.9 and 2.1s used the same filter and they were made till what, 1989?

IF all else fails, a Fram PH8 will work, but I don't like Frams
for long term use....

Here's some part numbers I found on the net:
Mahle OC-28 filter
Mann W 920/17
and OEM is: 021 115 351A

Here is a link to set of 4 for $20:

This guy always has some fer sale on ESlay.

Best I can do fer ya Vic!
