Has anyone fit a 914 2 ltr OEM muffler to an engine with 1.8/1.7 heater boxes.
The Dansk 2.0 OEM appears larger, and the lower bolt holes on the flange are spread slightly farther apart. Any comments on sound and or dimensions appreciated.
Application is 66 type 2 with 2ltr type 4.

It has not been done in a 914. The inlets to the stock 1.7 (and 74 1.
muffler are in the middle of the muffler, so the heat exchangers bend upward near the end to get up to that level. The inlets to the 2.0 muffler are even with the bottom of the muffler; the exchangers go straight back to get there. Putting a 2.0 muffler on 1.7 exchangers results in the muffler going through the trunk floor!
Plus there's that minor deal that the muffler flanges are a different distance apart, so you have to bend the exchangers around and even then you will likely wind up with a crappy fit and leaks.
No data on how that would apply to a T-2 body, though.
