Here you have it! Once again RAT has teamed up with LN Engineering to bring a totally new component to the DTM line up! Since the very first DTM that Joe L made the conversion pulley always has been a ton of work as we have to start with a Blank TI pulley, machine it for the right depth and then install a spacer to the back side of it so it can be attached to a Type 4 crank hub. This spacer is time consuming to attach and the spacer has to be CNC'd so this is one of the most labor intense parts of the creation of every Type 4 DTM kit and until recently it was the ONLY non CNC made part of the TIV DTM kit. Say good bye to the old and hello to the new.....


As you can see the pulley even has CNC engraved timing marks and the letters "DTM" engraved at BDC for some added touch. No more fuss with having to worry about scratching the silk screened numbers from your pulley, these are milled in the pulley forever!

This pulley ends up costing us a LESS amount to produce because we now have enough DTM volume to satisfy buying a huge lot of them all at once and thats whats going to continue dropping the prices of doing a TIV conversion! Lookd for some dropped TIV DTM prices this week!

These new pulleys are awesome one piece units that have the same dimensions as the previous TI pulleys we have been offering and also the same dimensions as those offered by Joe since the beginning of the DTM creation. This makes it possible to outfit your current DTM set up with a better looking pulley made from a near mirror finished chunk of billet aluminum! These new pulleys weigh the EXACT same amount as the older style pulleys to the gram, this will help those that have a current DTM to simply replace their current pulley without impacting their balance work very much at all.

These pulleys will be on the store site later today for purchase for 71.99, which is a whopping 8 bucks cheaper than the current econo grade pulley and a whopping 32 bucks less than the anodized, deluxe version which is no where near as nice as this billet one piece pulley!

We'll continue to update the DTM, make it nicer and leading edge all while trying to find the best processes to keep the price reasonable for such a time consuming, hand crafted unit.

Nothing beats a DTM, they don't even come close.

Very clean and neat, how much machine time does it take to make those from start to finish?

And one other stupid question, what type of camera do you have, those are very good crisp images..

Are you going to make a billet pulley with crank trigger in the future?

My direct fire set up and it's trigger wheel can be attached directly to this pulley with some machine work done to the pulley. Our EFI arrangement uses magnets imbedded into the pulley to fire the plugs so all that requires are a few holes drilled in the pulley and magnets epoxied in place.

There are so many different trigger wheels and ways to make direct fire work and all are variable to the point that I have no desire to offer the pulleys modified for other company's systems. The other reason is the simple fact that if a system works well enough I'd already be using it on my engines and carrying it!

The pulleys really are a work of art and the pictures don't do them justice! That said, I took it with my Nikon D50. That's even downsizing and compression and without setting up my lights and studio equipment- I just took it on the floor with the overhead light in my living room ona piece of white nylon. I figured I could afford a few thousand in photography equipment rather than paying the same to a photographer (after having poor results paying $$$ for a pro- they just don't know how to do car parts!).

I thought about this, BUT it would impact dynamic balance....

Of course if we were about flashiness we'd do it anyway....

I'm getting a CNC lathe and mill soon and plan on making a center for the pulleys that has engraving on it, since its so close to the centerline it would not impact balance.

That is f'ing sweet!

Wow! That is very nice...and affordable too! I think I will be having one of them, even if just for a Cali conversion. CSP's billet pulley is deared than that I think!
