I know someone with a great pair for sale in Redlands, Kali.
(not to far from you)
He is a member of the 914club. (and a good guy)
He wants 700-800 for the pair. And they are nice. Just rebuilt. I looked at them.
No cracks.
Early heads. No air injection ports. Thats a fair deal nowadays.
Mail me at clayton (at) universalprocessing (dot) com if you are interested.

At ~$2K/pair for the "replica" heads, truly good 2.0 Porsche head cores are still worth quite a bit.Dave_Darling wrote:Wow, just the threat of Jake's "Next Generation" heads has brought down 2.0 head prices significantly!! Used to be $250 was a super-screaming deal!

The ones needing serious crack work tho... HAM/Jakes "replicas" become serious competition.
My 2.0 cores are going in this week for the next "batch", I looked at going with the replicas, or even just worked "new" heads, and couldn't stomach the extra $700-$1100.
(Adrian never, ever bothered calling me back, and doesn't "do" e-mail.
Len replied almost immediately. HFM lost some work. Sorry.)
It's still going to run me ~$900 to have the work I want done.
---and that's assuming Len doesn't find anything.
The only remotely inexpensive route is still good used cores.
This will probably be true unless the volume triples and HAM can amortize that CNC gear.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
