This car used to be raced back when and showed all the signs of it. Bent rear torsion housing, bent front beam, rear deck completly cut out, dash cut out, and the list goes on and on. The cage in the picture ( it arriving home ) was made out of I don't know what, and welded poorly. The cage got into the doors, so they cut the inner door out to accomadate the cage. Really the only thing left of the car is the body....By all means let me know if you see me headed the wrong way,







I welded in a dash and a rear deck, from here at least if it needs it I will cut it instead of using a hatchet.





I put in a loop to help hold up the heavier Ford powerplant, and thats where the cutting begins.



Not having a good time with the Class 11 cage, think I am going to scrap most of it and bend my own main bars.

KC... I'm very glad you started a build thread. It's nice to see another 'vert project so I'll have someone else to copy from . I think the car is looking good I know the class 11 cage is a pain. I'm still fighting mine , belive me . I wish you were closer... I would like to have some tubing bent.

I don't mean that in a bad way. Notice the first picture how the steering column fits through the body in the trunk area.

I know its a late model, someone said it was a 71 super ("Any standard sedan glass would work for you. Flatscreen supers (Model 1302, years 1971-72) used the same glass as the standards of the same years"). The front does not fit the lift kit ( its coming off next, lots of weight to lose up there).

This looks like it's going to ba an interesting project.

I love the swoopy rear fender.... Sort of.

Yes, I did get some work done,I picked up some of lengths 120 wall pipe. Bent the front and rear hoops. The weekend was busy with family and friends.....hope everyone had a safe weekend filled with freinds and family also.

I am off to the bed to watch TV and get some rest. The wife had a large LARGE list of honey-do's for me this weekend, thought I could get caught up on my rest at work but they had the gall to ask me to perform today, I tried to explain that I was only there for the health insurance..... they didn't buy it.

I gave the store bought class 11 cage away. Talked with Ron @ http://www.safarioffroadracing.com/index.html he suggested 120 wall for everything over my head. So with that info and what I have seen around the web I am going with a laid back rear hoop, its to tall right now( better than to short ). These pics are just a mock-up of where things are going to land as I am once again pulling the body. It seems like a never ending process of on again off again.

It's to late for me but i wish I would have tied my "B" pillar into the torsion. Oh well... next car I will .




BTW... I know what you mean about the body. On and off... off and on...over and over .
