You put your finger on it - how much work needs to be put into it.

The body seemed in good shape. I have enough T1 mechanical parts (Stripped a 1970 beetle 30 years ago and still have the parts) to upgrade to BJ and IRS suspensions. Seatbelts? I imagine lap belts would be doable. Likewise I could have the roll cage stiffened up.

Haven't say in it yet - the driver's seat appears to be unattached.

Guy hasn't gotten back to me on whether it runs or not. I'd like to set up a meet and talk to him in person, but right now he's pretty late on texting me back.

Not sure about the wiper arms, though from the pics they look pretty standard.

I'm not sure it the trailer comes with it, but I'd be tempted to offer another $1k for it.

I know it at least needs an exhaust. I'm assuming it needs some engine work to make it run, as well as thoroughly going over the chassis and suspension. I'm also assuming the hoop is basically for show only.

I'm not too worried about it selling soon - it's not like that stretch of road gets a huge amount of traffic.

The windshield in ways looks like it came from a real car (maybe a VW) but not sure. The shape of it and how it is trimmed on the bottom and the sides of it is where that question came up. The wipers also drew my attention to the windshield but that was because of my blue buggy's wipers not fitting on the buggies low windshield.

I agree that the hoop probably is probably for looks but I would consider beefing it up as a "just-in-case" thing.

Also, measure the wheel base. It looks to be pretty short but then the body itself alone with the flashy paint could cause that that appearance.

The "stretch of road" thing is what I ran into back in the early 90's. I drove past a long back rail for sale but when I went back to talk to the guy about it... it was gone. A few day later I found out that one of my friends had spotted it and bought it so I had to bear with that for many years .

I did later find out that I can't ride or drive a rail w/o getting motion sick so my buggy w/body was the only choice. One of the reasons to drive something if you can. Another one I drove took about 10 to 20 feet of moving to find out that it's setup would not fit me when driving. Just sitting in it was one thing (marginal) doing the rest of the driving action was another.
