I want to clone the motor of Mr. Keene, using Renault pieces tu pressurize my 1914 motor with single 32 DIS renault carb.
I was thinking to use my current cam (Engle 110). Is there something wrong with this or is it better an Engle TCS 10? About the turbo I was thinking about using a Garret T2 from a Ford Escort RS Turbo (1600cc). My boost pressure will be around 0.6 bar. The use of my beetle is for daily transportation.

if you are going to use a solex 32 DIS, then i suggest you stick with the stock cam as you will find the carb at 0.6 bar will be too restrictive for much else. As a rule, everything needs to have an equilibrium, therefore, if one part does not match the others, then you will not achieve your goals. The solex is a great carb, but remember it was designed for a 1400cc engine (5) or slowish 1600cc engine (19, Fuego) so if you try to match it to a 1914cc at low boost it will have great bottom end to mid power, but little above 4000 rpm. This would be ideal for a bus, but in a bug it would feel strangled. It would pull up hills though...
One way to make it really perform in a bug would be to up the boost to 15 psi, this would justify a change of cam but would necessitate upgrading other components.
At the end of the day it all boils down to what you aim to achieve...
By the way, the 5 has the T2 and the Fuego/19/Escort share a T3.
